The software components of shopfloor.io help machine builders/manufacturers to quickly start developing tailored Industry 4.0 and IoT solutions. The software toolkit provides software modules (IoT Building Blocks) and can be used as the foundation for a scalable IIoT system architecture.
The (further) development can be carried out both in-house and externally. The operation is compatible with both cloud and/or on-premises environments. Existing solutions (e.g., IoT applications, low-code apps, etc.) can be seamlessly integrated. IoT platforms such as Azure IoT Hub, Cumulocity, Mindsphere, AWS IoT Core, and others can be connected as leading systems.
With the modular software system from shopfloor.io, machine manufacturers can network their systems and employees in a machine portal and link to their existing structures either clearly or via a connection.

In order to keep pace with the rapid pace of development - digitally and in Industry 4.0 in particular - software development is moving from rigid and monolithic structures to lean and agile microservices. This is why shopfloor.io was realised as a lightweight software kit that enables the modular integration of third-party components. This means that all components perform clearly defined subtasks, are easily interchangeable and expandable and the time-to-market for new functionalities is drastically reduced compared to rigid monoliths. A separation of services and connection via interfaces (‘everything as an api’) allows robust adaptation.
Cloud platform or on-premises
Cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure offer high scalability and data security at calculable costs. However, we also support companies that (also) offer local operation for reasons relating to the development of on-premises applications.
Another option is cloud-to-cloud solutions: not every service requires unlimited scalability. For example, system-critical applications can be hosted in your own cloud and communicate with load-intensive services in the cloud platform.
